Diaper2Care, a Story of Blood, Sweat, Tears and an Outstanding Vision
Myriam Claus, Director of the residential care centre Immaculata, contacted Walter Denil in 2015 with an alarming problem: the inconvenience of unpleasant odors emanating from incontinence material. Not long afterwards Walter came up with the smart waste disposal unit George and contacted Kris Borgers asking him to co-invest in the project. While Walter concentrated on George, Kris worked on the business development side and came up with the idea that, in addition to packaging the diapers, something could also be done about the disposal. In Belgium alone 80,000 tonnes of waste a year is created by incontinence material, a figure that must go down. For this reason we have invested in the notion of converting the used diapers into green energy.
